St Patrick's Day



St. Patrick's Day is a very important day for Ireland, because Patrick was a christian misioner, he introduced the chatolic religion in Ireland. He is know as the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick's Day is celebrated in many parts of the world, usually held in Mexico, Argentina, Spain and Ireland.

Argentina: It is held because there was a very important immigration of Irish and Celtic people, is the fifth comunity outside of Ireland. Cities where celebrated are: Rosario, Cordova and Buenos Aires.

Mexico: Aldo Irish immigration has been not important, recalls the heroic participation of the battle of St Patrick, in the defense of the Mexican state, celebrating St Patrick's Day in the old temple of Churubusco (an old village in Mexico).

Spain: In Spain, held a parade followed by at least 4000 people in the municipality of Pontevedra. Also, every year people celebrate St. Patrick in Salamanca, offering increasingly crowded party.

Ireland: In the past, St. Patrick's Day was celebrated only as a religious holiday. It became a public holiday in 1903, by the "Bank Holiday" (Ireland). It was only in the mid-1990s the Irish government began to use this international festival at the height of the great celebrations in the world and promote excitement throughout Ireland via innovation, creativity.


Also held in many cities known, as: Manchester, Londres, Boston, Chicago, Kansas and París.
